Drilling underway at Pūāhuru Bridge in Queenstown
A few photos of the Ground Anchor Systems crew working on the new walking and cycling bridge over SH6 at Jims Way. Once complete, the bridge will provide a safer connection between the Lower Shotover communities, Frankton and the wider Queenstown Trails network.
Working alongside Kā Huanui a Tāhuna, the Whakatipu Transport Programme Alliance, our scope includes 127 permanent soil nails across the north and south abutments, almost 2,000 metres of drilling, together with grouting, testing and Tecco steel mesh to stabilise the surrounding slopes.
With variable ground conditions and work alongside a busy highway, there’s plenty of planning and coordination behind every hole.
Great to see the crew getting stuck into a local project that will make a real difference for people walking and cycling around our community.
